A photo contest on the theme “Public Services for All” starts today. The competition is organized by the Joint Project of the Ministry of Justice, the European Union, and the United Nations Development Programme in Uzbekistan “Improved Public Service Delivery and Enhanced Governance in Rural Uzbekistan”, the Delegation of the European Union to Uzbekistan, UNDP in Uzbekistan and the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
The joint project of the Ministry of Justice, the European Union and the United Nations Development Programme in Uzbekistan “Improved Public Service Delivery and Enhanced Governance in Rural Uzbekistan“ (IPSD) offers the Government of Uzbekistan timely reform programs to improve citizen-oriented public services, provide and improve the local government system through more effective environmental, social and economic challenges.
The photo contest is aimed at:
- raising awareness of the local and international community about the ongoing reforms in the provision of public services in Uzbekistan;
- raising public awareness of the activities of the Public Service Centers operating in all regions of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
- attracting citizens’ interest in the use of the Unified Portal of Public Services my.gov.uz.
- raising awareness of citizens, in particular people with disabilities, the elderly, youth and children about the possibility of providing public services through a single portal my.gov.uz.
The competition accepts works that demonstrate the receipt of public services, ways of obtaining public services in offline and online formats; the importance of public services, the most demanded public services, places where public services are received, recipients of public services, etc.
We are also looking for photographs that demonstrate interesting architectural solutions of public service delivery places, the synergy of public services and nature, as well as images showing the impact of public services on the sustainable development of society and the state.
These photos are expected to inspire further action at the local, national and regional levels to jointly address the challenges of delivering public services for the benefit of people.
Amateur photographers of any age from all regions of Uzbekistan can take part in the competition. The judges of the competition, the organizers of the competition, the sponsors of the competition and their family members are not eligible to participate.
Nomination
The winners will be selected based on the jury’s decision in three categories:
- Online public services
- Offline public services
- Public services in my mahalla
Also, the Good Governance Program, implemented by the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (German Development Cooperation (GIZ)), announces a special nomination among photographs on the topic “Public Services for Persons with Disabilities”.
Requirements for photos of the special nomination:
In this nomination, photos can be presented that demonstrate the receipt of public services by persons with disabilities, as well as ways to receive public services in offline and online formats; the importance of public services, the most demanded public services, places where people with disabilities receive public services. In addition, photographs demonstrating interesting architectural solutions of places where public services are provided for persons with disabilities, the synergy of public services and nature, as well as images showing the impact of public services on the sustainable development of society and the state, will also be considered in this category.
Evaluation Criteria
A jury consisting of representatives of the different backgrounds, including relevant experts and a professional photographer, will review the submitted photographs. The following two rounds of reviews/rating will be conducted:
All winners will receive valuable prizes, and the photos will be shown at an award ceremony organized by the IPSD project and presented in the project or UNDP calendar for 2024 and/or other visual products.
The winner of the special nomination “Public Services for Persons with Disabilities” will be determined by representatives of the Good Governance Program, implemented by GIZ.
Deadline and extension of the competition
Photos will be accepted until 17:00 (local time) on November 30, 2023. All photos taken after that will be disqualified.
Submission of applications/photos for the competition will be carried out in two ways:
- The participant must post (publish) a photo on their own Facebook page and tag the project page Tez, Oson va Qulay by November 30, 2023, 17:00 (local time);
- The participant in the nomination “Public Services for Persons with Disabilities” must post (publish) a photo on their own Facebook page and tag the GIZ Uzbekistan Facebook page by November 30, 2023, 17:00 (local time);
- If the participant is not registered on the Facebook social network, then he/she must send a photo of no more than 5 MB with full name and contact number to info@ipsd.uz email by November 30, 2023, 17:00 (local time)
All submitted photos must comply with all the requirements of the competition specified in the Contest Supplement (link).
